Racial Justice

We have not had a reckoning in our Country regarding the repercussions of our history of slavery. Much of today's division is directly caused by the lasting effects of slavery. Many of our most urgent issues- policing and criminal justice reform, voting rights suppression, and the Income inequality gap (to name but a few)- can all be directly correlated with inadequately resolving the effects of slavery, impacting all Americans and Black Americans disproportionately. By implementing solutions to elevate the overall low-income population and directly addressing racial injustice outside the economic sphere, we as Americans can finally bury the ghosts of our past, creating a more united People, finally fulfilling the promise laid out in our Declaration of Independence of “All men are created equal”.
